IRVINE, Calif. -- In the second of a four game series, the Eagles hosted No. 14 Azusa Pacific. The Cougars grabbed an early lead and never trailed, defeating the Eagles by a final of 13-4.
Concordia tallied 10 total hits. Redshirt freshman infielder Will Bonn knocked in his first career RBI on a single in the seventh inning. Chris Martin II went 2-for-3 with two singles. Jair Donovan and Dominic Castro also went 1-for-2 with a double apiece.
In a hot seventh inning, the Eagles scored four times. The rally began with a single up the middle to centerfield by Martin. He later scored on a single to the right side by Bonn. After pinch--hitter Alex DiMascio walked, outfielder Dominic Castro doubled down the right field line to score Bonn and advance DiMascio to third. Catcher Juan Zuniga then smacked a single to right that scored two more runs and cut the deficit to 13-4.
Senior pitcher Andrew Stout (2-5) went five innings, allowed seven hits and one earned run. The senior was relieved by Cade Temple, Isaiah Bettencourt, and Logan Mahaffy.
