The singles matchups had much of the same results for the Green and Gold, the squad managed to win 4 of the 6 matches and earned a team victory for the day.Â
Â
The two freshman for CUI, Wong and Wilken were impressive in their college debuts and will look to build on their momentum in their upcoming match against Ottawa University Arizona.
Â
"I was very pleased with the way we competed today as a team," said head coach Jonathan Sanchez. "The energy in our doubles was amazing, which resulted in us sweeping all 3 doubles positions getting us the doubles point. Wong played at a very tough #2 singles position and performed outstanding considering it was his first college match. Wilken also stood out at the #4 singles position where he was able to win in straight sets."
Â
The Eagles will be back at the CUI Tennis Courts on Friday, February 7th at 12:00 p.m.Â
