Two Eagles Named Second Team All-PacWest

Green and McCoy Recognized After Solid Senior Campaigns

IRVINE, Calif. – A pair of seniors on the Concordia University Irvine men's basketball team have earned Second Team All-PacWest Conference honors after dazzling on the court this regular season.

Rob McCoy and Andre Green both started every game for the Eagles in their first season wearing the Green and Gold. Together they were the team's two leading scorers and helped CUI generate tons of turnovers on the defensive end. On a deep and talented team, the duo helped the Eagles rack up 20 wins for the 16th time in CUI head coach Ken Ammann's 19 years at the helm.

McCoy led the Eagles in both scoring (13.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.0 rpg) and one of his most memorable contributions came in a road win at Holy Names. In that game, the Chicago, Ill. native made a statement with three consecutive dunks in crunch time to help propel the Eagles past the Hawks.

McCoy was also a Preseason All-PacWest selection and was named PacWest Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 11. The transfer from Portland State scored a career-high 26 points in the home win over Trevecca Nazarene and pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds in CUI's road victory over Chaminade.

Green joined the Eagles after playing the past few years for Holy Names. He scored his 1,000th career point earlier this season and led both his team and the entire PacWest Conference in steals with 57.

The Stockton, Calif. native averaged 11.6 ppg and scored a career-high 28 points in a win over Fresno Pacific. In addition, Green shot 48 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range.

The Eagles made the PacWest Conference Tournament for the third consecutive season and will play Thursday, March 5 at 7:15 p.m. against Biola. As the No. 4 seed, CUI would face tournament host and top-seeded Azusa Pacific on Friday at 7:15 p.m. if the team advances past Biola.
