IRVINE, Calif. - The Green and Gold standout forward Dayshone Henry named Southern California PacWest Player of the Week!

The CUI Eagles men's basketball team began 2021 with a non-conference battle against the Nighthawks of Northwest Nazarene at the CU Arena.

In the battle Henry had a monster performance shooting 11-16 from the field, scoring 29 points, snagging three rebounds and three blocks.

"It's truly an honor and blessing to receive PacWest Player of the Week, especially this early in the season," said Henry. "It is inspiring to me, but the job is not finished! The team and I will continue to work hard and win each day both on and off the court."

"Dayshone is off to a great start," said head coach Ken Ammann. "I believe when he gets a little more comfortable in our system and program he'll be even more versatile."

Henry and the Eagles are facing off with Point Loma later this week on Jan. 22 and Jan 23. for a double feature against the Sea Lions. The Irvine squad has much to prove and is looking forward to showing Eagles fans what they are all about.
