Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Eagles were determined to finish their Colorado road trip on a high note and they accomplished that goal with an emphatic statement on Sunday morning against Austin College.
Five different players scored multiple goals for the Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team and the Eagles pulled away for a smooth 16-10 victory.
Playing against a team called the Kangaroos ('Roos for short), CUI fittingly jumped out to an early 3-1 lead by the end of the first period.
When the halftime horn sounded, the Green and Gold had built up a comfortable 10-5 advantage.
Jeff Runyan filled the net with six goals to pave the way to victory.
Harry Nixon added a career-high four goals and freshman
Kevin Shearer notched his first multi-score game with two of his own. Fellow first-year contributor
Jacob Stuart and
Austin Wade helped the cause with two goals apiece to round out the scoring.
Goalie
Hunter Osgood earned his sixth win as a Eagle between the posts.
The Eagles return to action this coming Wednesday, Oct. 20 when they host LMU in a conference game at 1:30 p.m. at Woollett Aquatics Center.
