Jacob Stuart gained some respect around the league this season after their first regular seasons as key members of our Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team.
As a junior, Runyan earned Honorable Mention by the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) in the annual conference award announcement. He led the Green and Gold with 76 goals and 80 points during the regular season.
Meanwhile, Stuart was named to the All-WWPA Freshman Team after making a big impact in his first season on campus. Stuart led CUI in recorded assists with 17 while also netting 24 goals – which was the second-highest total on the squad behind Runyan.
The Eagles will face No. 10 UC San Diego in the quarterfinals of the WWPA Championship this Friday, Nov. 19. CUI earned the No. 7 seed and the Tritons the No. 2 seed in the tournament bracket. Their match will start at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

This year's tournament is hosted by UC Davis and all games will be held at the Schaal Aquatics Center.
