IRVINE, Calif. - Freshman
Olivia Ocampo has been recognized as the PacWest Player of the Week after an outstanding performance in her last match.
The Cypress High School alum scored twice in last Thursday's 3-1 victory over Biola on the road. Her first goal came with the Eagles trailing 1-0 off an assist from
Layla Comeaux to give her team the equalizer. She would tally the eventual game-winning goal with help from
Riley Walkington before
Jadenn Carrillo later net an insurance goal for the final margin.
The first-year player has excelled in the midfield this season, and emerged as a vital part of the CUI attack. Ocampo also helps the Green and Gold win the possession battle as CUI routinely racks up more shots and scoring chances than their opponents.
CUI is back home for a pair of doubleheaders this Thursday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 6 at Eagles Field. The Eagles face Dominican on Thursday and Holy Names on Saturday.
