IRVINE, Calif. - You might as well call him Batman because when you need a bucket, Mr. Wayne can certainly swoop in and deliver!
Barely a month into this regular season,
Wayne Arnold is already proving that he can be a high-level scorer for the Concordia Eagles as they open up their first PacWest Conference road trip.Â
Arnold ranks first in the entire country in NCAA DII in scoring at 27.7 points per game and this Monday, the Compton Dominguez High School alum was named the PacWest Conference Player of the Week.
He enters league play on Monday leading the entire PacWest in points, field goals, and three-pointers this season and he is on pace to break the PacWest record for points per game in a season.
A native of South Central, Calif. the Eagles guard has been a revelation in his first season wearing the Green and Gold uniform. After his first six games with his CUI teammates, the Eagles have pocketed three wins in non-conference play and Arnold has scored at least 24 points every time. He tied his career-high with 32 points in
last Friday's home win over Bethesda and led the Eagles with 29 points in
last Wednesday's road victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Arnold is also shooting a sizzling 48 percent from the field and a hefty 40 percent from three-point range.
This is the second time in November that the Cal State Fullerton transfer has been named the PacWest Player of the Week.
