SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Michaela VanderKlugt earned her third double-double on the season, the Eagles lost a close battle against No. 23 PLNU.

The Eagles made the necessary defensive changes for their second match up against PLNU for the weekend as they held them to 73 points, almost 20 points lower than the previous game against them. The Eagles were neck in neck with the Sea Lions the whole game until the fourth quarter. During the third quarter the teams broke even scoring 17 points each. This is the second time the Eagles and Sea Lions have held even ground during the third quarter. The end score was 73-63 for the Sea Lions.

VanderKlugt led the Eagles in both scoring and rebounds as she dropped 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Katie Timmerman got behind the line a lot and dropped 14 points total. Savannah Felix-Amoroso earned eight points and scrapped up seven boards. The Eagles had the same overall field goal percentage as PLNU, what hurt was the Sea Lions held a better three-point percentage overall. PLNU also got to the line just a tad more than the Eagles which in the end helped put them over as they shot 88.9% from the line.

"I was just looking for my shot more tonight," said VanderKlugt. "I was picking my areas to be effective and was sticking with what was working for me."
