SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The CUI men's soccer team traveled to San Diego, Calif. to battle the Sea Lions of Point Loma Nazarene University. In the bout the Eagles competed hard but came up short losing 3-1.

The preseason ranked No. 1 Eagles came into the game ready to compete and managed to strike first. CUI's
Elijah Amadin scored the first goal of the match around the 23-minute mark off a set piece from just outside the middle of the 18 yard box. The goal scored by Amadin would serve as the lone score for the Green and Gold.Â

The Sea Lions and the Eagles ended the half knotted at 1-1.

As the second half began, the Concordia Irvine squad fell behind quickly as Parker Scalzo for the Sea Lions put in his second goal of the day in the 47th minute to bring the score to 2-1.

Although the CUI men's soccer team fought to the very end, the Sea Lions were able to find the net one last time before the match ended to close the game 3-1.

Keeper for the Eagles had a valiant effort for the game earning four saves in the match. The Green and Gold will be back in action Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Eagles Field at 3:00 p.m. against Hope International.
