SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The CUI men's tennis team traveled to San Diego, Calif. to battle the Sea Lions of Point Loma Nazarene University.
The No.14 ITA ranked Eagles coming off a victory against the Biola Eagles last week, kept their winning streak alive taking the match 4-1 over Point Loma. The Green and Gold men's tennis team is the current No.1 team in the PacWest Conference and have no intention of slowing down.
In the double's competitions Concordia flew high above the Sea Lions with pairs
Yassine Smiej +
Mike Jansen taking their match 6-3, and
Benjamin Buck +
Gertjan De Wilder took their match 6-4 to give CUI the point heading into the single matches.
Playing the number one slot, Smiej took the match in three sets to earn another point for the Green and Gold, while
Jan Simon and Buck playing in the four and five slots took their respective matches in straight sets.
The Eagles will look to ace their next opportunity in the Indoor Team Nationals competitions, February 26-28th, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
