IRVINE, Calif. – The women's tennis team continued their hot streak as they currently have won six games in a row.
The No. 23 Eagles take down the Sea Lions at home with a final score of 4-1. The momentum began with the doubles point being earned by
Tiffany Carrillo and
Ghazal Pakbaten winning their match at the No. 1 doubles as well as
Rebekah Anderson and
Taylor Lau defeating their opponent in the No. 2 spot.
Anderson continued the winning spirit as she earned another point in her No. 2 singles match up.
Camila Tumosa earned the next Green and Gold point as she defeated her No. 3 opponent. Pakbaten who fought through three sets clinched the win as she went 6-3, 5-7, and 6-3.
"I am very grateful to be back after the injury and defend the nest," said Pakbaten. "I am honestly so proud of the team and myself. This game will always be in my mind! Not playing for two weeks because of the injury and then to come back and win this match against a tough school was special!"
The women's tennis team is currently 10-2 overall as they look forward to redeeming themselves against APU whom they lost a close match earlier in the season. This face off will happen on Apr.
1 on APU territory. For the full schedule
