SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Eagles make their debut in the NCAA West Regional Tournament against No. 11 Hawai'i Pacific.
The Eagles faced the Sharks for the second time this season and were unable to pull away with the win during the NCAA West Regional Semifinals. Hawai'i Pacific has multiple players ranked nationally in the Top 20 for singles. No. 36
Ghazal Pakbaten battled in the No. 1 singles position against the No. 16 player in the nation. Pakbaten was able to hang in there and ended with unfinished. In doubles
Kimia Rahmani and
Alyssa Zayat won at the No. 3 spot with a set score of 7-5.
While the Eagles were unable to earn the win, they had a phenomenal season going 15-5 overall which is the
most wins in the NCAA DII era for the program. This season was full of making school history as the Green and Gold were also named the
ITA Women's Team of the Month in March. The Eagles also earned
seven PacWest accolades for the season with head coach
Jonathan Sanchez being named the PacWest Women's Tennis Coach of the Year! While the season has come to an end there is much to be celebrated for this team and all they accomplished this year.
