CARSON, Calif. After a five set thriller from last night, the Eagles continued their momentum today with a sweep versus Stanislaus State in just three sets. The final scores were 25-21, 25-16, and 25-23.

Once again
Kirra Schulz played a big role for the Green and Gold at the back line. The junior racked up four aces on the day while helping close out the first set with back-to-back aces. The San Clemente native led the Eagles not only with aces but added 11 kills.

Schulz started things off for the Eagles in the second set taking an early 5-0 lead over the Warriors. Libero
Cassidy Gelacio extended the lead with another four point run to take an 11-2 advantage. CUI held Stanislaus from going on a run for more than two points in the second set.

The Warriors fought back in the third set taking a lead over the Eagles by a close score 9-11. While the Warriors were up in the third set 20-23,
Jalyssa Sanchez snapped the run with a kill.
Daniela Poles went back to the service line and with a couple kills from outside hitter Schulz, the Eagles tied the set at 23 a-piece. Poles finished the match with her tough serving from the back line.

Middles
Hannah Tostado and Sanchez collected seven blocks defensively and six kills each.
Kennedy Farley contributed with seven kills and six digs. Poles led the defense with 13 digs along with libero Gelacio adding 11.
Brianna Latigue dished out 34 assists after just setting a
CUI record with 54 assists last night.

The Eagles will finish the SoCal Freeway Challenge Saturday, Sept. 11 in the CU Arena against Cal State San Marcos with a 6 p.m. slated start time.
