Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team is in the middle of a five-game stretch in four days.

La Salle University transfer
Callin Chimilar net the first goal of the contest to help CUI get on the board early in the first quarter. That was followed quickly by a goal from
Jeff Runyan to make it 2-1 Eagles.
After things were tied 3-3, CMS emerged with a 5-0 run to jump ahead and take control. The Eagles were able to trim the deficit with four goals in the fourth quarter, but ultimately CMS held on for an 11-8 victory.
Shako Khizanishvili led the Eagles with three goals and an assist. Runyan finished with two scores while
Jacob Stuart and Shako's younger brother, Gio Khizanishvili, also added one goal apiece.
CUI goalie
Hunter Osgood was busy between the pipes and made 15 important saves to help the cause.
Whittier 19, CUI 9
Four different Eagles posted two goals against the Poets, but unfortunately it was not meant to be.
Christian Bowley,
Shaine Sargis,
Dawson Brummett and Jackson Millius each found the back of the net twice but the Poets built a 9-2 advantage by intermission. A second half surge by the Eagles saw the Green and Gold tally seven goals down the stretch, and included a goal by Jackson Millius.
However, Whittier was in a rhythm and could not be denied. The Poets converted seven of eight power play advantages, making the most of their opportunities when the Eagles were whistled for exclusions.
The Eagles play two more games in this tournament in Claremont on Sunday, Sept. 12 before their home opener this coming Friday, Sept. 17 at 12:30 p.m. over at Woollett Aquatics Center.
