IRVINE, Calif. –
Jeff Runyan scored four goals,
Harry Nixon and
Jackson Milius each added two apiece and the Concordia University Irvine Eagles cruised to a 12-8 exhibition victory on Friday over Grossmont College.
The Green and Gold led the Griffins by eight at intermission. CUI Goalie
Hunter Osgood played a near-perfect first half and allowed only two goals before intermission. He finished with two recorded steals as well.
Ryan Ortiz collected two steals while manning the cage in the third period and teammate
Tanner Powell served as goalie for the fourth period and collected a couple saves.
Austin Wade assisted on both of Nixon's goals.
Callin Chimilar and
Jacob Stuart each scored once and added two helpers. Gio Khizanisvili also net a goal and his older brother
Shako Khizanishvili added an assist.
The Eagles will play a rare night game in their next home contest on Thursday, Sept. 30. That game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and
*Please note that the Eagles will be playing CBU over at Beckman High School and not at Woollett Aquatics Center on this date. This game was originally scheduled to be played on October 13.
