IRVINE, Calif. – Three wins in a week, four victories in a row, and now six wins in their last seven outings.
Suffice it to say, it has been a very good stretch for the Concordia University Irvine women's basketball team since New Year's Day.
CUI polished off its third straight win against a PacWest Conference opponent from Hawaii on Saturday with a satisfying 71-49 decision over Hawai'i Pacific.
Four Eagles scored in double figures and 11 different players earned playing time.
PacWest Player of the Week
Michaela VanderKlugt led the way once again as she scored 23 points and hauled in seven rebounds.
Katie Timmerman and
Jasmine Rachal each dropped 16 points and
Samantha Fries scored a career-high 10 points and eight rebounds. Fries also finished a game-best +24 during her time on the court, while freshman guard
Kendall Jackson drained her only three-pointer attempt of the contest and was a +22 off the bench.Â
Sierra Clark dished out a season-high six assists.
Coupled with Concordia's double-digit wins over Hawai'i Hilo and Chaminade earlier in the week, Saturday's fulfilling victory capped off a week where the Eagles won those three games by an average of 24.3 points.
Concordia aims to collect its next win this Tuesday as the Eagles will make up a previously postponed game at Biola.
