Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Calif. - On day two of the Gary Troyer Tournament, the Concordia University Irvine men's water polo finished up the tourney with a doubleheader.
In the first matchup the Golden Eagles faced off against #6 Long Beach State in a game where Long Beach's offense was firing on all cylinders. After a strong first half, LBSU was able to swim away to a 27-8 victory.
The Golden Eagles' offense was led by
Jeff Runyan, who scored three goals.
Sam Diamond,
Alex Newberg,
Harry Bentham,
Shaine Sargis, and
Xander Luckett also were able to get themselves on the scoreboard with each scoring one goal.
Later that afternoon, CUI was slated to play against #12 Pepperdine University. After establishing a solid lead heading into halftime, Pepperdine was able to turn that momentum into a 21-8 win.
CUI's offense was led by
Callin Chimilar and
Leo Erickson who scored two goals each. The Golden Eagles also had goal contributions from
Shaine Sargis,
Austin Wade,
Jeff Runyan,
Connor McElwee, and
Harry Bentham.
