FRESNO, Calif. - Boosted by the return of their leading scorer, the Golden Eagles pounced on the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds on Saturday and coasted to a 17-10 victory on the road.
It's the first conference win of the year for the Concordia men's water polo squad and it was a solid all-around performance.
Senior
Jeff Runyan tied his season-high with six goals to move closer to the all-time scoring record at Concordia.Â
Freshman
Harry Bentham continued his strong first season with the Golden Eagles with three more goals to help the cause.
Sophomore
Jacob Stuart as well as
Callin Chimilar and
Connor McElwee also each chipped in with two goals apiece. Menawhile,
Austin Wade also found the back of the net and was credited with two assists.
Newcomer
Luke Addington also scored once in the fourth period for CUI while goalie
Hunter Osgood was in fine form with 10 saves.
CUI faces UC Davis on Sunday at 10 a.m. before returning home for an exhibition match on Wednesday against Saddleback College.
