Golden Eagles Fall Short to No. 17

Box Score SANTA CLARA, Calif. – On Saturday afternoon, the Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team took off to play against No. 17 Santa Clara.
 
Two out of three of the goals scored belonged to two freshmen. Freshman Luke Addington found the back of the net for the Golden Eagles and was assisted by Andrew Dimino on a powerplay.
 
The second goal went to Senior Jeff Runyan assisted by Callin Chimilar. Jeff Runyan broke the school record for career goals earlier this week in a victory against Biola.
 
The third and final goal went to freshman Harry Bentham.
 
Goal keepers Hunter Osgood and Tanner Powell both split playing time and had two half's in the water with 16 minutes each. Powell saved nine shots from making it into the cage. Osgood had five saves from the Broncos with a final score of 3-19. 
 
The Golden Eagles play at home next on Wednesday Nov. 2 at 1:00 pm at Woollett Aquatics Center against Cal Baptist University.
