Golden Eagles Keep the Penguins on Ice

IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University women's volleyball team earned their sixth sweep this season as they hosted Dominican in the CU Arena on Saturday. The final scores were 25-17, 25-14, and 25-12.
 
Long service runs for the Green and Gold helped secure the win as this helped extend their lead and was able to secure the sweep. Michelle Feliciano went on a six point run and Farley went on an eight put run at the end of the match along with two hitting errors from the Penguins to secure the sweep.
 
Freshman hitters Ally Scheidle and Mattie Prior both finished with seven kills. Prior finished hitting a .385 while Scheidle led the Golden Eagles with three aces. Kirra Schulz had another double-double match with 11 kills and led CUI with 14 digs. Kenney Farley added five kills and seven digs from the back along with tallying an ace to her stats.
 
Three different middles came into the game and made an impact defensively as they each earned at least one block. Caitlin Jarrell had three blocks including one solo.
 
Kawehi Chang dished out 12 assists while Michelle Feliciano had 13 along with two aces from the back line. Feliciano reached double digits digging up 10 throughout the match. Cassidy Gelacio came into the play defense and had five digs alongside libero Julia Wilson.
 
CUI moves to 15-8 on the season and 12-4 in PacWest. The Golden Eagles will be on the road against Point Loma Thursday, Nov. 3 in San Diego, Calif. and be back in the CU Arena the following day Friday, Nov. 4 against Fresno Pacific with both matches slated to start at 7 p.m.
