MALIBU, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team went up against No. 18 Pepperdine and another D1 school Cal State Bakersfield and came out on the day gong 1-1. Pepperdine secured a 5-0 win while the Eagles defeated Cal State Bakersfield 4-1.
 
The first game of the day was a battle for the Eagles as they played No. 18 Pepperdine and were looking for rematch as they lost against them earlier in the year. Pepperdine secured the win after the third match taking a 5-0 victory over CUI.
 
The second match-up of the day for the Green and Gold was another rematch after losing by a close 2-3 earlier in the season at the Great Park. Ryan and Ostojic captured the first win for the Eagles after losing the first set by a close 22-24. Prewitt and Bush finished next in line in three sets after losing the first one. Clifton and Miller secured the win for the Eagles over the Roadrunners in the fifth slot winning in three sets as well. Flight three with Smith and Evans was the only slot to win in two straight sets.
