IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team extend their win streak to five in a row as they beat Colorado Mesa and Cal State Los Angeles Saturday. The Eagles finished both matches 4-1 and move to 17-3 on the season.
 
In the first match of the day Colorado Mesa only took one win in the third flight over Bush and Cary. The CUI duo won the first set but the Mavericks came back to win the next two. The flight slot was another challenge for the Green and Gold after winning the first by a close 21-18 and lost the second by only two points. Bernzen and Phair finished the match with another close score 15-13. The other flights did not come easy and was able to close out in two sets.
 
The last match-up of the day was against Cal State LA where we beat them earlier in the season and did just that again. Flights two through five were able to secure the win for the Eagles in two sets. The last flight standing was the first where Bernzen and Phair competed in three sets again. CUI won the first set but the Golden Eagles found a way to hold CUI and earn their solo win for CSULA.

The Eagles will play an exhibition match against IVC again and also compete against Utah on Friday, April 1 at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
