TAVARES, Fla. – After the dominating performance by the Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team on Friday, the Eagles looked to continue their momentum into Saturday. CUI finished 1-1 on the day but have made it into the semifinals for the first time in program history.
 
The Eagles took on University of Tampa in the morning and finished 0-3. Flights one, two, and five were the only matches that played against the Spartans. The Eagles battled it out but were unable to come up with a win losing those matches in two sets.
 
The Eagles knew they needed to win their next match in order to move forward and advance to the semifinals for the first time and continue to make their mark on all the milestones for the season with the team. They were matched up with Carson-Newman who they had played on Friday and had a dominating performance. The Eagles knew their opponents and used that to take a 4-0 win. Not only did they win but held their opponents to only two sets and not allowing more than 16 points.
