Concordia Adopts "Golden Eagles" & Announces New Logos

IRVINE, Calif. – Embrace the Gold!

For the first time in the school's NCAA Division II era, Concordia University Irvine unveiled the products of a new rebranding effort – with unique, new logos for the entire school and also specifically for the CUI Athletics department.

Keeping the main green and gold colors with just a slight change of hue for both, CUI looked to set itself apart from conference opponents and further differentiate from NCAA DII schools.

The biggest change on the surface is that all our teams and student-athletes at Concordia University Irvine will now be known as Golden Eagles.

Golden Eagles are fittingly known to be loyal, territorial, and extremely fast and are most notably found in Western North America.  Compared to humans, golden eagles also have superior eyesight and can deftly use their talons as powerful birds of prey.

The primary "Concordia Golden Eagles" logo with the new mascot mark is the new primary logo for CUI Athletics.  You will also see variations of our new "CUI" logo and the words "Golden Eagles" on uniforms as well as team-specific logo variations that use our three primary colors of dark green, collegiate gold and white (ex: CUI Soccer, CUI Basketball, etc).

The new primary font for CUI Athletics is Prometo Bold Italic, which replaces the Leawoodscef font that was used in past years.
