Box Score FRESNO, Calif. – You could not have asked for a better way to reach a career milestone.
Concordia captain
Jacob Stuart scored career goal No. 100 on Friday afternoon during an exciting 15-9 victory over conference rival Fresno Pacific.
Stuart teamed with
Sam Diamond to lead the Golden Eagles with four goals apiece against the Sunbirds. A versatile player who has started since his true freshman season, Stuart fittingly scored once every period. His milestone goal came on a penalty shot in the second period and gave Concordia a commanding 7-3 lead.
Harry Bentham gave CUI its first lead of the day on another penalty shot in the first period that made it 2-1 in favor of the visitors. Bentham and
Cade Peterson each finished with a pair of goals.
Cade's twin brother
Jace Peterson,
Leo Erickson and
Carlos Olat each contributed a goal as well.
Defensively,
Tanner Powell was a force protecting the Concordia goal. The senior racked up 15 saves and only allowed seven goals in nearly 30 minutes of action. SAAC representative
Griffin Beth closed out the contest between the pipes before the final horn.
This coming week is shaping up to be a fun one for the Golden Eagles.
The next two games are both at home against conference opponents at Woollett Aquatics Center.
CUI hosts Biola in a matinee on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. Then it will be Senior Night in the final home game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
