IRVINE, Calif. - As the Golden Eagles prepare for the WWPA Championships in Illinois, the Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team earned five WWPA All-Conference honors.  

Harry Bentham was the sole First Team All-Conference selection as well as All-Defensive Team for the Golden Eagles. Bentham has been one of the lead scorers for CUI this season within his 26 appearances. The sophomore has an overall shot percentage of .478, a career-high four goals in the recent match against Biola, and 54 total goals so far this season. Defensively, Bentham has an astounding 33 steals overall. 

Jacob Stuart was recognized as Second Team All-Conference. The junior team captain has led the Golden Eagles offense with a career-high of 5 goals in a single match and a shot percentage of .511. Not only has Stuart been named WWPA Offensive Player of the Week, but he also hit his 100-goal milestone in the match against Fresno Pacific. This honor will be recognized alongside his WWPA All-Freshman Team honor from his solid first season with the Green and the Gold. 

Attacker Jace Peterson and utility player Kaliq Khan both received All-Freshman Team honors for Concordia. The two freshmen were undeniably effective in the water for the Green and Gold. Peterson scored his first recorded goal as well as the first Concordia goal at the start of the season. Peterson has 22 goals with a shot percentage of .524. Freshman Khan managed an impressive 11 steals and 12 goals thus far in the season. 

The Concordia men's water polo team plays in the WWPA Championship on Friday, Nov. 17. The tournament will be held in O'Fallon, Illinois. Concordia's first round opponent will be Gannon at 9 am. The Golden Eagles are on the hunt for a win.
