Box Score HONOLULU, Hawai'i. - The Golden Eagles found themselves playing the second game of their Hawaii road trip versus the Chaminade University Silverswords.
Looking to bounce back after the last game, the Golden Eagles were determined to flex their muscles against the Silverswords.
To get the offensive party started for CUI,
Jonathan Moreno wasted no time and connected with
Kevin Sanchez in the 11th minute, making the score 1-0. This was just the beginning of the scoring barrage for the Golden Eagles.
Six minutes later,
Kevin Sanchez went through the Chaminade defense and struck the back of the net again for his second goal of the game to make it 2-0 in just the 17th minute of the game.
More and more opportunities opened up for the Golden Eagles, which meant more shots on goal and offensive pressure for the Silverswords defense.
Sergio Gutierrez wanted to have some fun in the action and led
Anthony Morales with a sweet pass for a third GOAL-den Eagles score in the span of ten minutes, making the game 3-0 in the 22nd minute!
Trying to relieve some of CUI's pressure, the Silverswords scored five minutes before the half ended, making it a 3-1 game going into the second half of play.
In the second half of the game, the Golden Eagles defense really shined through, not allowing a single score from the Silverswords. Goalkeeper
Andre Flores had some great saves and communicated to the defense to be on the same page throughout the game, especially in the second half.
To put the cherry on top of this game,
Anthony Morales made his way through the Silversword defense in the 82nd minute and scored his second goal of the game. The game ended with a final score of 4-1, with two Golden Eagles scoring in this match!
