IRVINE Calif, - Coming back from after the Christmas holiday break, the Golden Eagles women's basketball team closed out the last game of 2023 against the Azusa Pacific University Cougars.
At the start of the game, both teams held each other scoreless for the first two minutes. Eventually, that defensive flow was broken by APU knocking down a free throw to make it 1-0. After the offensive lull at the start of the game, both teams eventually got into a rhythm.
Michaela Young led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 10 points and two rebounds while only playing 15 minutes in the game. Other Golden Eagle key players include starters
Savannah Felix-Amoroso and
Camryn Kiernan, who both scored nine points. Felix-Amoroso grabbed six rebounds, and Kiernan grabbed three boards and blocked two Cougar shots.
