Box Score IRVINE, Calif. - Graduate student
Jasmine Rachal led CUI in scoring on Saturday night dropping 21 points against Hawaii Hilo. Rachal constantly drove hard in the paint and forced the Vulcans to send her to the line. The Brea native went 5-for-6 from the charity stripe.
The story of the night for the Green and Gold was the play of their redshirt sophomore forward
Erika Maggard. The Irvine native dominated in the post for the Golden Eagles dropping a career-high 19 points going 5-for-10 from the floor. Maggard also went a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line.
CUI kept the game close all night, and heading into the fourth period the Vulcans held a four-point lead. The Golden Eagles scored 20 points in the last period, and graduate student
Katie Timmerman was one of the reasons why. Timmerman knocked down a three and dished out three assists late in the game.
The Golden Eagles host Hawaii Pacific next Thursday Feb. 23 at 5 p.m before celebrating the seniors for senior day on Saturday Feb. 25 at 12 p.m. versus Azusa Pacific.Â
