LA MIRADA, Calif. - On Saturday morning the CUI men's tennis team faced off against rival Biola to open PacWest play. 

In the doubles portion of the match, the duos of Mike Jansen/James Caddies and Julius Seifert/Alex Edmonston would prevail to give the Golden Eagles the advantage.

CUI would split with the Eagles in the six singles matchups. Adam Large, Julius Seifert, and Alex Edmonston picked up crucial wins to preserve the victory.

Head coach Jonathan Sanchez reflected great start to the season saying, "Jansen and Caddies played great and showed their experience closing out the deciding doubles match to get the point. Edmonston and Seifert continue to be rock solid picking up a quick doubles match at the No. 3 position. Large clinched the match for us at No. 6 singles and handled the pressure extremely well, never giving his opponent an opportunity to get back into the match."



Concordia will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 3:00 p.m. against Point Loma.
