IRVINE, Calif. - Coaches around the PacWest Conference voted Concordia's
Jasmine Rachal and
Teagan Thurman among the top players this year as members of the 2022-23 All-PacWest teams.
Rachal made First Team All-Conference for the second time in her career. The Brea Olinda High School alum averaged a team-best 16.5 points per game and led the league in free throw percentage (86.3 percent). She was also third in the PacWest in scoring and led CUI in assists. Rachal recently moved into fifth place in CUI record books for career scoring and has racked up over 1,600 points during her time wearing green and gold.
Thurman transferred to Concordia after playing at Northwest Nazarene and made an immediate impact in the paint. She finished this regular season averaging 13.8 points and a team-best 17.6 rebounds per game. Thurman was second on the squad in scoring and also tied for the team-high in blocks with teammate
Lauren Richter.

PacWest Conference Championships Begin Thursday in Honolulu
CUI is the No. 3 seed this March and will face No. 6 seed Hawai'i Pacific in the first game of the entire tournament. Tip-off for that quarterfinal game is set for 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time (12:30 p.m. local Hawaiian Time). The conference tournaments are being hosted by Chaminade University this spring and being played at McCabe Gymnasium in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
If the Golden Eagles can advance, they would play at the exact same time on Friday against No. 2 seeded Dominican.
CUI swept the season series against both HPU and Dominican, but the Penguins passed them on the final day of the regular season to earn a first round bye with top-seeded and regular season champion Azusa Pacific.
