LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Concordia University men's volleyball team continue their run of competing against ranked teams this week starting with No. 2 UCLA. UCLA took control of the match and finished with scores 16-25, 16-25, and 14-25.
After an impressive showing against BYU
Uriel Batista led CUI with five kills and seven digs.
Slater Fuhrman and
Johnny Anselmo combined for a total of five kills while Anselmo tied Batista with seven digs from the back.
Mason Mullins came into the game and made an immediate impact with four kills on seven attempts and no errors while hitting .571.
Gil Herold and
Cole Vigo also played in the middle and had two kills each.
Makai Lipson dished out 17 assists while libero
Jacob Reilly scooped up three digs from the back while also covering the Green and Gold hitters to help continue the rally.
The Golden Eagles look for round two against UCLA on Friday Mar. 3 in the CU Arena at 7 p.m. CUI will also host No. 3 Penn State on Saturday Mar. 4 with a start time of 2 p.m.
