BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team start a three day stretch on the road Friday against host team CSU Bakersfield and UTEP. The Golden Eagles finish the day splitting with a 4-1 win over UTEP and 1-4 loss to CSU Bakersfield.
CUI started off the day against UTEP as they took control of the matches with four of the five earning a sweep in two. Ostojic and Smith encountered a tough second set against the Miners but were able to pull off the win by a close 24-22 score and secure the win for the Green and Gold over their opponent.
The fours slot with Dyer and Moreno was the solo win for the Golden Eagles against CSU Bakersfield as they were able to win in just two. Lemoine/Prewitt and Lemoine/Prewitt duos came close in the first set of each of their match but the Roadrunners ran with their win and closed out the matches in two.
