IRVINE, Calif. - The sun came out for the Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team as they hosted at the Orange County Great Park and picked up two wins. CUI remains undefeated against Cal State Los Angeles and Vanguard in all their contests against each other. The Golden Eagles had some exciting matchups versus their opponents with a 5-0 win against CSULA and won 3-2 over Vanguard. 

CUI took control of the first match of the day against Cal State Los Angeles as they won all matches in just two sets. The fifth flight with Dyer and Moreno were unmatched as they kept their opponents under 10 points in both sets. 

The second game against Vanguard was a battle between the duos. Dyer and Moreno had another dominant performance not allowing the Lions to earn more than eight points in both sets. Lemoine and Prewitt fought for their win as they went to three sets and came within just a couple points for the win. The Lions came up with two wins over the Golden Eagles in slots two and three but CUI came out with an exciting 3-2 win over Vanguard.

The third match of the day was against IVC but is an exhibition since matches from NCAA programs against two-year schools do not count for regular season stats.
