IRVINE, Calif. – The CUI beach volleyball team was on the road Saturday as they took on two Top 25 teams starting with No. 18 Pepperdine and a rematch against No. 8 Loyola Marymount.
 
In the first game of the day against Pepperdine the fours slot put up a battle against the Waves as they won the first set. Pepperdine came back to win the next two earning their second win. Duo Hannah Phair and Olivia Highstreet tried to keep the game going but ultimately fell short in two sets with the Waves securing the win over the Golden Eagles.
 
The Golden Eagles were looking for a rematch against No. 8 LMU as they played them earlier in the season. The third slot Tatum Smith and Isabella Bush tried to keep the game alive for CUI but Loyola Marymount closed out the match in two.

The Golden Eagles will continue play on the road as they take on host team Cal State Northridge on Tuesday Mar. 7 at 9 a.m. and will play against Utah with a slated time at 11 a.m.
