NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team picked up two wins today verses Cal State Northridge and Utah as they went 4-1 against both teams. The Golden Eagles remain unbeaten against the Utah Utes in their three meetings in program history.
 
The twos slot with Ryan and Giusta put up a fight in the first game of the day against host team CSUN and won in two sets both by just two points. The fourth and fifth slot went the distance going to three sets after both winning the first and the Matadors coming back to win the second and force a third. Ostojic and Smith secured the win for CUI with a dominant play in two sets.
 
First slot with Highstreet and Phair secured the win for the Green and Gold while the remaining matches were icing on the cake for CUI. Dyer and Moreno clashed with the Utes in the second set as it went to 33 points where the Golden Eagles won in straight sets.

The Golden Eagles move to 4-6 on the season and will be in Bakersfield Friday Mar. 7 as they compete against host team Cal State Bakersfield and will face off with UTEP for the first time in program history. CUI will play back-to-back starting at 12 p.m. followed by around 2 p.m.
