IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team played against two teams on Saturday against Saint Katherine and Cal State Northridge before honoring their seniors. The Golden Eagles came out with a 5-0 sweep over the Firebirds and won by just one flight with a 3-2 win over the Matadors.
 
In the first game of the day CUI took control of their matches sweeping SKU and all flights winning in just two sets. The second slot put up a fight as the Golden Eagles came out with a close 22-20 win in the first set and closed out the second.
 
The last match of the day was a close one as CUI was able to close out their fifth win over CSUN in program history. The first two slots won in straight sets over the Matadors. Prewitt and Lemoine dominated not allowing their opponents to earn more than 15 points.

The Golden Eagles will be traveling to Sacramento and play against three different teams starting with Santa Clara at 10 a.m. and Pacific at 1 p.m. CUI will finish up the day playing the host team Sacramento State at 4 p.m.
