SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team travelled to Sacramento State to compete against teams for two days. The Golden Eagles finished 2-1 on the day beating Pacific and host team Sacramento State for their first win over each team in their first contests against each other. Santa Clara secured their first win over CUI in their third match-up between the two teams.
 
 
CUI started the day playing against Santa Clara where the Golden Eagles have been able to beat them by a close score in each contest. The Broncos were able to secure their first win over the Golden Eagles for the first time from the last three slots which did not come easy. The fifth slot with Moreno and Dyer took Santa Clara duo to three sets.
 
 
The Golden Eagles dominated in the next two games against Pacific and Sacramento State as they only allowed one game versus Pacific. CUI shut out Sacramento State and did not allow them to take a game with two of the games going to three sets. The wins over the Hornets did not come easy but the Golden Eagles made adjustments and were able to close out each game.

The Golden Eagles move to 13-13 and will finish regular season against St. Mary's and San Francisco on Saturday Apr. 8 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. before playing in the AVCA Small College Championships starting Apr. 14.
