Schulz Selected to PacWest Preseason Team

IRVINE Calif.- Senior outside hitter Kirra Schulz from the CUI women's volleyball team was named to the All-PacWest Preseason team for the first time in her career, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
 
The San Clemente, Calif. native has earned All-PacWest honors for the past two consecutive years. In 2022, Schulz led the Golden Eagles in kills at 362 with a hitting percentage of .225, placing her second in conference and earning herself a spot on First-Team All-PacWest. Again in 2021, Schulz was given an All-PacWest honor after recording 308 kills with a .204 hitting percentage helping her team finish 11-2 with 20 wins that year.
 
Also returning this year is Kennedy Farley, the junior outside/opposite hitter was second on the team in kills and earned academic honors for All-PacWest for the second time in her career. Farley racked up 210 kills, 28 aces, and 152 digs in her sophomore season as a Golden Eagle.
 
The Green and Gold are projected No. 4 in conference, as voted by head coaches of the PacWest this year. Schulz and Golden Eagles begin the 2023 season next week at the Golden Eagles Invitational on Thursday, Aug. 31st through Saturday Sept. 2 in the CU Arena. CLICK HERE for the full schedule.
