FRESNO, Calif. - CUI men's hoops headed north to compete against the Fresno Pacific University Sunbirds to get back on the winning track.
The Golden Eagles have been playing some great defense lately, and this game was no different. Both teams were going at each other throughout the first half, and there was no clear advantage for either team.
The Golden Eagles and Sunbirds struggled to shoot from three-point land, making two combined threes in the first half. Ending the first half of play with a score of 30-27, the Sunbirds were on top.
Coming back from the locker room, Coach Ken Amman must've really invigorated his team because the Golden Eagles came out hot to shoot the second half. Opening up the second half with a 13-0 run, the Golden Eagles seemed like they couldn't be stopped.
Making eight three-point shots and shooting 62% from the field with four different Golden Eagles in double digits, the Sunbirds could not stop CUI and ended up losing with a score of 77-62.
Notable key players from tonight's action is Tim Adetukasi, who had 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Kobe Sanders finished with 14 points, going 4/8 from deep, adding two assists and one steal. Jackson Tucker scored 12 points and snatched up three steals. Last but not least, Freddie Dybala, coming off the bench, scored 11 points, two steals, two assists, and one block.
