IRVINE, Calif. - On the first leg of their road trip up to the bay, CUI took on the Art Academy University Urban Knights.
The Golden Eagles had their work cut out for them, facing one of the top teams for hoops in the PacWest standings. The first half looked prominent for
Ken Ammann's squad.
Fighting to gain control of the game, neither team wanted to give up. The Urban Knights wanted to pull away, but the Golden Eagles were right there to make it a competitive game. Winning the rebounding game, CUI was only down by five going into the half with a score of 24-29.
The second half opened up, and that is when Art U took advantage of their style of play. This is what coach
Ken Ammann said about the postgame report: "Can't tell from the final score, but we were ready to go tonight. We played a hard-nosed first half - and had our chances early in the second to really take control of the game, but we didn't get back in transition, and we let too many easy ones in that stretch- and then the game got away from us," said Ammann.
Ultimately, the Golden Eagles fell to the Urban Knights with a final score of 54-75.
