Irvine, Calif. - In tonight's matchup against the Bobcats from UC Merced, the Golden Eagles put together an offensive clinic and secured their fifth win in a row. The first goal of the game came from the Bobcats, but it was mostly all CUI after that for the first period, with CUI outscoring UC Merced 7-3. Konstantinos Koulouris led the way in scoring for the Golden Eagles, with five goals on the night that were spread out evenly throughout the game.
Jacob Stuart and Kai Young also both had impressive nights in the pool, with three goals a piece. This duo created a lot of momentum for CUI and scored goals when they needed them the most. Although the Golden Eagles offense has been winning games for them, the defense has also been spectacular. Goalie Griffin Beth has been a key piece in CUI's offense, and had five saves on the night to hold off the Bobcats. The Green and Gold offense and defense worked together seamlessly tonight which allowed CUI to push forward and grab the win.Â
The Golden Eagles are looking to carry this positive momentum to their Senior Day and to close out their regular season on a good note.Â
