IRVINE, Calif.- The Concordia University Irvine Beach volleyball team hosted The Masters University, CSUN, and Saint Katherine in their home opener of the 2024 season. The Green and Gold were able to dominate all three matches with scores of 5-0 against both The Masters and Saint Katherine and 4-1 against CSUN.
In the first game of the day the Golden Eagles were able to overtake the visiting Mustangs as all slots took home a clean 5-0 sweep across the board.
Tatum Smith and
Sara Ostojic dropped one set but were able to make a comeback and take over the match with a 15-9 score in the third set.
In the second games, The Golden Eagles fifth pairing took a hard fought loss in their match against CSUN.
Ashleigh Souza and
Eva Prewitt battled till the end and made a comeback in the second set, but ultimately lost in the third set with scores 21-19, 21-23, and 15-13. All other pairings were able to overcome which gave CUI the win, 4-1.
