AZUSA, Calif. - In Saturday evening's competition, the Golden Eagles found themselves competing against the top seeded team in the PacWest, the APU Cougars.
The first quarter commenced and the Golden Eagles fought hard right from the jump ball. Trying to get into the rhythm of the game, CUI ended the first quarter down 11-21.
Diving head first back into the action, the Golden Eagles competed hard to get into the game with a couple of three pointers two minutes into the second quarter from
Izzy Navarro and
Camryn Kiernan. After being down double digits in the first quarter, CUI cut the APU lead going into the half 29-21.
Coming out of the half, the Golden Eagles did competed with the best of their ability against the #1 seeded team in the PacWest. Ultimately the Cougars went on an offensive run early in the third quarter and did not look back. The final score of the contest was in favor of the Cougars 71-56
