IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball took on University of Charleston on Tuesday to start their three game week. CUI came out with a 3-1 victory in the Golden Eagles battle with scores 25-14, 23-25, 25-20, and 27-25.
Ties Cornelissen led CUI with a career-high 24 kills while hitting an impressive .571. Opposite
Christian Galoppo had another double-digit kill night with 13 while the duo both tallied two aces and a combined of four blocks.
Makua Marumoto had nine kills off 17 attempts and four digs.
The offense was explosive and unstoppable as the team hit for a combined .459 hitting percentage and all hitters hit above .330.
Clement Osahon Jr. had two kills and three solo blocks with two block assists.
Maxwell McCullough went 7-for-13 and hit .538 out of the middle.
Libero time was split between two liberos
Jacob Reilly and
Johnny Anselmo who had a combined six digs.
Yotam Briger dished out 48 assists while scooping up 11 digs.
CUI will be back on their home court Thursday Feb. 19 as they take on UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m.
