Missy Doesn’t Miss: No. 14 CUI Starts 2-0

IRVINE, Calif. –
Missy Nemeth homered in each of Concordia's first two games and a pair of seniors pitched fantastic in the circle to help the nationally-ranked Golden Eagles start the Concordia Kickoff Classic with two solid victories.
Rain and poor field conditions forced Friday's tournament games to be moved to college campuses in the area, including Concordia's home field.

No. 14 CUI 5, San Francisco State 2
Concordia topped San Francisco State 5-2 on a majestic walk-off three-run bomb by Nemeth in the season opener.
Katlin Entrup was the first pitcher in the circle to open the season and fooled a ton of batters. The PacWest Preseason Pitcher of the Year struck out 11 and only allowed two earned runs while tossing a complete game.
Nemeth broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the seventh to end it the right way for the home team.

No. 14 CUI 6, Western Oregon 1
Cortney Koelmans tossed six innings to cash in for her first victory of the year against Western Oregon.

Megan Casper also made her debut in the CUI circle and tossed one frame to close the deal. The Wolves only scored one unearned run after the game was already out of reach.
The offense was carried by a couple of familiar names.
Missy Nemeth went 3-for-3 with 5 RBI in the second contest against the Wolves. Nemeth smashed another three-run homer to put some distance between the two squads and senior centerfielder
Kaia Nisby added two hits as well.
Nemeth finished the first day of the season with an eye-popping 8 RBI.
With the current field conditions at the Orange County Great Park forcing daily schedule changes, Saturday's games were once again move to surrounding college campuses. Concordia, Azusa Pacific, Biola, Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State San Bernardino.
No. 14 CUI faces No. 16 Oklahoma Christian on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. with another contest against Stanislaus State slated for a 1 p.m. start on campus.
