LOS ANGELES, Calif.- The CUI beach volleyball team went head to head with the Hawaii Warriors and USC Trojans on Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Eagles took their first defeat after having an eight game winning streak in the last couple of weeks. CUI is now 13-6 overall on their season.
In the matches against Hawaii flight two, Sarah Ostojic and
Tatum Smith, upset their opponents in two straight sets taking the victory for the Green and Gold in that flight. Pairing five,
Jordyn Nichols and Kelia Guista battled in three sets with Hawaii as they were able to push their way back into the match in the second set with a close score of 21-19. Hawaii was able to comeback from the tie breaker in the third set and took the game in the third set with a score of 15-10. The Golden Eagles made valiant efforts all around but ultimately Hawaii was able to overcome CUI with scores 4-1.
CUI is back on the road on Friday March 22, to Malibu, Calif. to play against the Pepperdine Waves and Colorado Mesa.
