LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Concordia women's water polo team headed down to Los Angeles to face the No. 12 Loyola Marymount Lions in a midweek match. It was a tough challenge for the Green and the Gold. LMU took the match with a final score of 14-3.
The Lions captured a big seven-point lead by the end of the second period, which made it difficult for the Golden Eagles. Seeking points for CUI, key scorer
Tamsyn Evezard and freshman
Kailah Peery were the only two players to add to Concordia's board.
Tamsyn Evezard scored the first and final goal for CUI while
Kailah Peery captured another in the fourth with three minutes remaining. Evezard was credited with that assist.
Abby Mammen and
Tessa Tavaglione had a few shots towards the cage, but LMU stopped the advance.
The Golden Eagles were bombarded with goals from the Lions, but they managed to lessen the amount significantly in the third and fourth period.
The Golden Eagles are on the hunt for a win. Next up for the women's water polo team are the home matches against Fresno State and UC Santa Barbara on April 6. The two matches for that day will start at 12:15 p.m. and 5 p.m, respectfully. Come cheer on your Golden Eagles at the Woollett Aquatics Center!
