MALIBU, Calif.- The CUI beach volleyball team traveled to sunny Malibu, Calif. on Friday April 5^th and 6^th to face the UC Davis Aggies, the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners, and the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. The green and gold went 1-2 over the weekend. Final scores for all pairs are as follows.
 
On Friday April 5, the Golden Eagles went head to head against the Aggies. Flight four was the victor for CUI as True McCullough and Kelia Giusta dominated against the Aggies in just two sets. This is the first time the pair has been partnered together but they showed out against the Aggies.
 
In the matches against the Roadrunners, CUI's flights one, two, and five dominated. First pair, Sara Ostojic and Kelissa Lemoine took CSUB in a quick two set match, with scores 21-18, 21-14. Second pair, Kali Uhl and Tatum Smith also ended their match in a quick two sets. Score for the second pair were 21-19 and 21-15. Flight five, Ashleigh Souza and Nicole Miller, took the Roadrunners to a three set thriller. The first set of the match was neck and neck with a score of 23-25. In the second set, CUI showed dominance with a quick 21-6 set and in the third set CUI finished the match with a score of 15-12.
 
The green and gold are now 19-11 overall. CUI is on the road once more for the AVCA Small College Championship, where they are the No. 2 seed. They face Florida Southern College on Friday April 12 at 6:05 a.m. CLICK HERE for the full schedule.
